About me?

Hi, my name is Claire and I live in Norton with my husband Mike together with our two dogs and two cats.

My love of animals stems from a very early age growing up on an organic arable farm near Stokesley which also bred rare breed shorthorn cattle. Border collies were always a big part of our family on the farm since I can remember, along with various pets of my own which included ducks, rabbits and hamsters over the years.

Now, I share my heart and my settee with two rescue whippet crosses, Dillon and Tai. Dillon was adopted in 2006 from Butterwick Kennels, he had the most appalling case of starvation cruelty I had ever seen.

Following the sad death of our beloved rough coated Lurcher Clifford, to bone cancer and which led to the onset of Dillon developing depression, from the loss of his best pal, we decided it was time to get Dillon a brother. So we adopted Tai in 2012 from SARA, who had previously had 2 owners together with a lengthy stay in kennels before finding his forever home with us.

Our two cats Sassy and Missy were adopted as cheeky, naughty little kittens from the Cats Protection in 2012 …. And finally, last but not least, the main one who i share my heart and home with and who I couldn't be without is, my husband Mike. We've been together 16 years and married for 8 and with his support helps makes my business a real family run one.

Professionally, I've worked in an admin office since the age of 17, going on to achieve my AAT accounting qualification in 2012. However, when we struggled to find a dog sitter to board our dogs during our holiday in the Cotswolds in 2014, it was time to get up from behind that desk and go achieve my dream and passion to work with animals full time. Then after being made redundant just before Christmas 2014, the journey of The Crazy Dog Lady began.

My committment to you is to provide your pets with the same level of care that I would expect my own pets to receive, as I know full well how important it is to leave your beloved four-legged fur-baby in a safe and loving environment and in the care of someone you can fully trust, ….. which I can guarantee you will find with me!
